About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is seeking an experienced Busser/Food Runner. This is a part-time, 100% on-site position paying $15.00 per hour plus tips. The role is non-exempt and reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. The position provides timely, accurate, and friendly service by greeting and seating guests, running food to tables, and clearing dishes from restaurant tables. The hotel is located near Miami International Airport and has 334 guestrooms, onsite dining, and hotel and convention meeting and event facilities.

Requirements

Be able to communicate in and understand the predominant language(s) of the guests.
Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
Be able to stand for long periods, up to five hours.
Be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.

Responsibilities

Remove dishes from restaurant tables.
Set restaurant tables with clean dishware.
Deliver food between the kitchen and restaurant tables.
Greet guests warmly and graciously upon arrival.
When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and party sizes.
Call guests by name and party size when tables become available.
Provide guests with estimated waiting times.
Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
Seat guests according to their preferences while balancing customer flow in service stations.
Offer guests a menu upon seating and inform them of their server’s name.
Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
Relay messages to servers as needed.
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
