Business Technical Support Analyst
About The Position
The CVRI, the largest organized research unit on the San Francisco campus, aims to promote fundamental and clinical research on cardiovascular and pulmonary systems and provide opportunities for postdoctoral training. With over 400 faculty, staff, and fellows, the CVRI comprises faculty from various departments including Pulmonary Medicine, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Medicine, Pediatrics, Anatomy, Physiology, Cardiology, and Lung Biology. This position provides technical support to approximately 400 faculty and staff who use PC and Macintosh computers. Key responsibilities include workstation and application server installation and maintenance, ensuring the functional integrity of the LAN and its connections to the campus network, hardware and software installations and maintenance, troubleshooting, setup, upgrading, and configuration of computers, managing Active Directory accounts, and supporting connections to the hospital information system (APEX). The role also involves supporting and backing up Windows and Unix-based servers, and managing Screen Connect remote software.
Requirements
- PC and Macintosh computer support
- Experience with LAN and campus network connections
- Hardware and software installation and maintenance skills
- Troubleshooting, setup, upgrading, and configuration of computers
- Active Directory account management
- Support for connections to hospital information systems
- Support and backup of Windows and Unix Based servers
- Experience with Screen Connect remote software
