About The Position

Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Business System Analyst 2 in the Technology Distribution Team. The Technology Distribution Team is the team that builds and supports the systems that connect Choice Hotels’ brands to external booking channels, partners, and internal platforms. In simple terms, this team ensures that hotel rates, availability, and reservations flow accurately and reliably between Choice systems and third‑party partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field required, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Agile software development environments
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and systems analysis concepts
  • Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data flows; experience with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, REST API or OpenAI is a plus
  • Familiarity with service‑oriented architectures and modern application design principles
  • Ability to analyze complex information, resolve ambiguities, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating process flows and diagrams using tools such as Lucidchart or Visio
  • Demonstrates key competencies aligned to this role, including analytical thinking, collaboration, accountability, and learning agility

Responsibilities

  • Gain a solid understanding of customer requirements and gaps through discussions, observations, and analysis.
  • Support integration efforts by documenting APIs, message flows, data mappings, and system interactions.
  • Act as the “Voice of the Customer” for technical teams executing projects.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings of all types from discovery, project planning, and review.
  • Identify connections between systems and recognize dependencies and possible risks or impacts.
  • Write clear, concise stories, epics, and initiatives conveying what success looks like.
  • Facilitate and participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and standups.
