About The Position

The Business Specialist Intern will deliver quality customer service and perform daily task management and support for the Corporate Custom Solutions team. The internship provides supervised work experience in the operations of a health care company with multiple subsidiaries throughout the United States, alongside classroom learning and educational activities. This is a 12-week paid internship at Select Medical’s corporate office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, running from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. The program includes 20 hours of classroom lecture, 460 hours of supervised work experience, weekly reading assignments, learning luncheons, and a tour of a local hospital and outpatient clinics. The position is on-site and not remote. The rate is $15.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Software Development or a related major.
Have completed sophomore year before the internship starts.
Be available to attend the entire internship.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned tasks to integrate acquisitions, implement application software, and maintain existing applications.
Maintain documentation for system processes and procedures.
Coordinate and communicate with other Information Systems resources assigned to support application issues and project tasks.
Work with vendors on application issues.
Act as a liaison between users and vendors to develop requests for additional reports and features.
Work under the direction of more senior business contacts.
Occasionally handle small projects and assist with larger, more complex problems.
