About The Position

The Business Solutions Strategist (business title: Business Solutions Architect) reports to the SVP, Transformation and drives high-priority strategic and operational initiatives across Progress Residential's operating platform, from problem definition through implementation and measured results. This is an individual-contributor role on the Transformation team, working directly with functional and executive leaders. The work shapes how the company deploys AI, redesigns operating models, and scales its centralized platform across a national portfolio. This strategy-through-execution role owns outcomes, including structuring ambiguous problems, building the case for change, and leading cross-functional delivery. The position is based in Tempe, Arizona; candidates outside the area may be considered if willing to relocate to Tempe within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience, including at least 2 years at a top-tier management consulting firm, in corporate strategy, or in a transformation or chief-of-staff role at a high-performing operator.
  • MBA or comparable analytical training.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of strategy work that was implemented, with measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and pressure-test a defensible business case.
  • Experience with AI, automation, or data-driven transformation initiatives as a leader or core team member.
  • Exceptional structured communication skills, including executive presentations, concise writing, and sound judgment about what matters.
  • Disciplined program communication, including maintaining a regular stakeholder reporting cadence and surfacing risks and blockers early.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace, with a bias toward ownership and outcomes over process.

Nice To Haves

  • Real estate, property management, or operations-intensive industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own high-priority transformation initiatives end to end, from problem definition and analysis through recommendations, executive alignment, delivery, and measured results.
  • Structure ambiguous operational and strategic problems into workplans, hypotheses, and analyses; build business cases with quantified impact.
  • Lead solution-design sessions with business and technology stakeholders, facilitate trade-off decisions, and converge on recommended designs.
  • Develop executive-ready materials and recommendations, communicating complex analysis clearly to senior and executive leadership.
  • Lead the design and rollout of AI-enabled workflows across operations, including customer journeys, maintenance, and revenue functions, in partnership with data science and platform teams.
  • Map current-state processes and design future-state workflows, identifying automation opportunities and defining target operating models, including roles, workflows, decision rights, and performance measurement.
  • Work with internal platform and engineering teams and external vendors to translate business requirements into implemented solutions and ensure delivery meets specifications.
  • Define initiative success metrics, establish baselines and controls, and report measured results.
  • Drive cross-functional implementation through workplans, owners, timelines, and escalation of blockers, coordinating across operations, technology, data science, and market teams without direct reports.
  • Drive adoption and change management with field and functional teams, anticipating resistance and designing for it.
  • Partner with functional leaders in customer operations, maintenance, revenue, and supply chain to shape initiatives, secure buy-in, and embed change.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior operators and influence across the organization without authority.
