About The Position

Horizon Next is a data-driven marketing organization focused on strategic leadership and growth for clients through brand strategy, media planning and investment, and analytics. The Senior Strategist, Business Solutions develops media plans, analyzes research and data, supports client presentations, manages account and project workflows, and mentors junior team members. The role collaborates across internal departments and with clients and industry partners, while contributing to an inclusive and supportive workplace.

Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of previous media planning experience.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving ability and capacity to develop creative solutions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to follow through.
• Flexibility and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

• Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to discuss how their functions apply to media planning.
• Proficiency in basic functions of systems and tools used in media planning, such as media management, billing, competitive, and targeting tools.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting and selling through ideas internally and to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategic media plans based on client direction and media principles, with guidance from a supervisor.
• Analyze consumer research and competitive intelligence findings produced by junior team members.
• Collaborate on points of view for new media opportunities.
• Work with junior and senior team members to develop presentation decks, prepare final drafts, and present to clients.
• Continue developing media strategy knowledge and participate in internal training and development.
• Manipulate and analyze large datasets and collaborate on traditional-channel reporting, insights, and reports.
• Build and strengthen relationships with core clients and industry partners as a Horizon Next contact.
• Own and ensure the accuracy of billing, budgets, and flowcharts.
• Manage day-to-day team projects, proof junior team members’ work, and manage timelines and deliverables for internal and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee junior team members’ engagement and interactions with other Horizon Next departments, including Investment, Traffic, and Operations.
• Guide Assistants and/or Strategists’ professional growth and educate them on best practices and media principles.
• Contribute to junior team members’ performance reviews by identifying strengths and growth areas.
• Participate in interviews for Assistant and Strategist roles.
