About The Position

Horizon Next is a data-driven marketing organization providing strategic leadership to accelerate client growth through brand strategy, media planning and investment, and analytics across channels. The Senior Strategist, Business Solutions helps develop and execute strategic media plans, analyze consumer research and competitive intelligence, assess media opportunities, and translate data into client-facing insights and reports. The role also supports client and industry relationships, account administration, internal project coordination, and the development and mentorship of junior team members. The position works collaboratively with junior and senior colleagues and cross-functional departments, contributes to client presentations, and helps ensure projects, budgets, billing, timelines, and deliverables are accurate. The role calls for a data-powered strategist who communicates effectively, works well in a fast-paced team environment, and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. The role does not require certificates, licenses, registrations, or physical activity. Horizon Media describes itself as an equal opportunity workplace. The listed salary range is $66,300 to $80,000, with actual base salary depending on factors including skills, experience, training, education, and qualifications.

Requirements

At least 1.5 years of previous media planning experience.
Understanding of advanced analytics and performance media.
Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics, and concepts.
Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to discuss how their functions can or should be applied to media planning.
Proficiency in basic functions of systems and tools related to media planning, such as media management systems, billing systems, and competitive and targeting tools.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently present and sell through ideas internally and to clients.
Strong writing, presentation, and communication abilities.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to develop creative solutions and solve problems.
Attention to detail and commitment to follow through.
Flexibility and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing strategic media plans based on client direction and media principles, with guidance from a Supervisor.
Analyze consumer research and competitive intelligence findings produced by junior team members.
Collaborate on ongoing points of view for new media opportunities.
Work with junior and senior team members to create presentation decks, prepare final drafts, and participate in client presentations.
Take part in internal training and development to strengthen media strategy knowledge and application.
Manipulate and analyze large datasets and collaborate on traditional-channel reporting, insights, and implications.
Create reports that showcase findings.
Build and strengthen relationships with core clients and industry partners as a Horizon Next contact.
Own and ensure the accuracy of billing, budgets, and flowcharts.
Manage day-to-day team projects, review junior team members’ work, and manage timelines and deliverables for internal and cross-functional teams.
Oversee junior team members’ engagement and interactions with other Horizon Next departments, including Investment, Traffic, and Operations.
Guide Assistants and/or Strategists’ development by educating them on industry and media-planning best practices.
Contribute to junior team members’ performance reviews by identifying strengths and areas for growth.
Participate in interviews for Assistant and Strategist roles.
