About The Position

This high-visibility role sits at the center of AEP’s electric transmission business. The position reports directly to the Managing Director of Transmission Finance and works closely with the President of AEP Transmission and the Transmission Leadership Team. It translates complex business information into clear, compelling insights for senior executives, the AEP Board of Directors, and external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making and enterprise-wide planning. The role offers broad exposure to transmission strategy, operations, finance, workforce planning, and enterprise initiatives. It also provides opportunities to contribute to executive and Board communications, support strategic priorities, and develop relationships across AEP businesses and corporate functions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, compelling messages.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders.
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting C-suite or senior executive leaders within a large organization.
Background in Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Mergers & Acquisitions, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Executive Communications, or Technical Writing.
Experience developing Board of Director materials, executive presentations, or strategic communications.
Advanced PowerPoint storytelling and executive presentation development skills.
Experience working in fast-paced, high-performance environments with significant executive visibility.

Responsibilities

Partner with Transmission, Distribution, Human Resources, Finance, and corporate organizations to gather, validate, and synthesize business information.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into concise executive-level insights and recommendations.
Develop reporting and analytics to support executive decision-making.
Author and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc presentations delivered by the President of AEP Transmission.
Develop Board-level materials, executive briefings, conference presentations, strategic updates, and other high-profile communications.
Translate complex technical, operational, financial, and strategic information into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
Ensure consistency, accuracy, and executive-level quality across materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Support development and advancement of non-financial components of the Transmission Annual Plan.
Work with the SVP Finance of Transmission and senior leadership to align strategic priorities, performance metrics, and business objectives.
Assist in evaluating strategic initiatives, organizational priorities, and business transformation opportunities.
Lead special projects and respond to executive requests supporting the long-term success of the Transmission organization.
