About The Position

The Business Partner - People & Culture (P&C) is responsible for providing professional human resources advice and assistance to the site P&C Superintendent, other departmental managers, and all site employees. The main function of the position is to coordinate and support the implementation of site and Group P&C projects/initiatives and assist the team with the efficient and effective delivery of routine HR operational services to various departments. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy. The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $78,000 to $104,000 annually.

Requirements

  • A recognised tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
  • Proven experience in a Human Resources Generalist role, preferably within an operational or site-based environment.
  • A demonstrated record of high performance in a similar advisor-level position.
  • Experience working with diverse employment contracts, shift work arrangements, and varying roster and work patterns.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted relationships with line leaders, supervisors, and frontline employees, reinforcing the value and impact of People & Culture.
  • Strong digital capability, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using a large-scale HRIS (SuccessFactors experience will be highly regarded).
  • Well-developed administrative and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven experience in handling highly confidential and sensitive information, including personal, medical, salary, and commercially sensitive data, with integrity and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality operational support to the P&C Superintendent, contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance employee attraction, retention, and engagement.
  • Develop, review, and communicate Group and site policies and procedures to ensure clarity, compliance, and consistency.
  • Partner with Group Recruitment to support and deliver local recruitment initiatives aligned with site workforce needs.
  • Support the annual performance review and talent management processes, ensuring full employee participation and timely completion.
  • Plan and deliver effective induction and orientation programs to ensure new employees understand their roles, work areas, and administrative processes.
  • Participate in a range of People & Culture projects and initiatives, leading specific projects as required.
  • Coordinate and support site-wide training and career development initiatives, including leadership development, graduate programs, vacation student programs, and apprentice/trainee programs.
  • Provide accurate and timely data and insights to the P&C Superintendent and Manager for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, including input into budget planning and review processes.
  • Proactively communicate and escalate issues or risks that may impact site operations, P&C functions, or employee outcomes.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in weekly P&C team meetings, providing updates on projects, initiatives, and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records by regularly updating P&C tracking sheets and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate leadership through behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining’s core values and leadership principles.
  • Actively promote and uphold health, safety, and security standards, including identifying and mitigating risks within the workplace.
  • Work in accordance with Evolution Mining and RLO site-specific safety and health management systems.
