About The Position

The Business Optimization Intern will support PROPWR’s Commercial Business Optimization and Supply Chain functions by helping develop data-driven tools and technology-enabled solutions that improve decision-making and business efficiency. The internship provides hands-on exposure to supply chain analytics, inventory optimization, purchasing, supplier performance, and artificial intelligence applications within the power generation industry.

The intern will assist with organizing and analyzing data, developing dashboards and applications, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes. The intern may also support AI-enabled tools intended to improve access to company procedures, employee training, sourcing activities, operational visibility, and business reporting.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a BS/MS program in Engineering or another closely related field.
• Available to work 10–20 hours per week.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Attention to detail and well organized.
• Self-motivated, independent, and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of data-driven tools, dashboards, and business applications to improve commercial and supply chain decision-making.
• Gather, organize, validate, and analyze data from multiple business functions to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in evaluating and applying artificial intelligence and automation technologies to enhance business processes and efficiency.
• Support supply chain initiatives through analysis of purchasing activities, supplier performance, inventory management, sourcing opportunities, and procurement processes.
• Develop reports, visualizations, and business insights that support commercial strategy, asset deployment decisions, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements, test solutions, and improve business processes.
• Assist with documenting workflows, developing user guides, and maintaining business process documentation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support continuous improvement and technology-enabled business initiatives.
• Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports communicating findings, recommendations, and project status to leadership and business stakeholders.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending required HSE training sessions and safety meetings and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
