About The Position

The Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation is a space and defence company focused on developing dual-use solutions for delivering unmatched capabilities on this planet and others. CSMC is developing a micro nuclear reactor for remote applications like the arctic, defence, and space exploration. Led by a team with a mix of entrepreneurial and institutional experience at the highest level, we are a bleeding edge company, working at the intersection of energy, geology/geophysics, health technologies, space systems, and imagineering. We're not gonna do it alone though, and we're hiring a Business Intern. They will work directly with the CEO, COO, and cross‑functional teams across Business Operations. The position will support activities including but not limited to financial tracking, business reporting, documentation management, market research, presentation development, budgeting assistance, and supporting day‑to‑day operational processes. The role will involve facets of business administration, financial analysis, project coordination, process improvement, and general business operations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another related business field.
  • Familiarity with economic analysis, cost–benefit frameworks, or financial evaluation methods, gained through coursework or academic projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to support data review and reporting tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Forms).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada, and able to attain appropriate security clearances requisite with an aerospace company of this type.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the business operations team in coordinating tasks, timelines, and day‑to-day activities to support smooth departmental workflows.
  • Support accounting and finance teams with data entry, basic financial tracking, and preparation of internal reports.
  • Help prepare presentations, documentation, and summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in conducting basic economic and cost–benefit analyses to support internal business cases, budgeting decisions, and operational planning.
  • Conduct basic market research and gather relevant business data to support planning and decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate records, organize digital files, and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Finance, Operations, and Business Administration.
  • Assist with special projects such as budgeting support and process improvements.
