About The Position
The Data Quality and Business Intelligence department provides centralized support for business, research, clinical, hospital operations, and workforce reporting across Moffitt. Its services include enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, data curation, and standards, governed through the Enterprise Wide Analytics Strategy Steering Committee. Working within the Business Intelligence work stream and as part of the BI team, this position handles center-wide data extractions, queries, reporting, and delivery with coaching from senior BI team members. The role supports strategic initiatives by enabling analysis of clinical, research, patient-focused, financial, and administrative operational data, and reporting aggregated information using BI tools. It collaborates with clinicians, researchers, and operational staff to meet reporting needs through data extraction and the development of reports and dashboards. This is an experienced entry-level role in the BI career path, with guidance from senior professionals or leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics/Analytics, Public Health with Biostatistics or Epidemiology concentrations, Clinical Informatics, Computer Science/Engineering, Biostatistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in data querying, extraction, reporting, and analysis in a relevant information systems capacity.
- Demonstrated understanding of transactional and decision support systems.
- Working knowledge of relational database architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
- Some experience writing standard SQL and T-SQL procedures and functions.
Responsibilities
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from Moffitt data users by performing data extracts and queries; creating reports; granting access and subscriptions; fixing minor data issues; and answering questions.
- Complete assigned BI tickets and ad hoc data requests based on triage, and modify existing reporting products as requested by managers.
- Provide end-user support, documentation, and training for business intelligence solutions.
- Support, maintain, and enhance reports, dashboards, and decision support systems in production.
- Assist in developing business intelligence solutions, including SSIS packages, SSRS reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
