About The Position

The Business Impact Manager (BIM) serves as a strategic partner to Oliver Wyman's Energy (ENR) Practice Leadership, supporting both the Global ENR Leader and the Americas ENR Leader. The role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and coordination across the global ENR leadership team while ensuring successful execution of priorities within the Americas. Acting as the operational hub for the practice, the BIM helps translate strategic priorities into action, connecting regional and global leadership, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring alignment across the practice's commercial, talent, knowledge, and investment agendas. The role partners closely with Practice Leadership, Finance, Talent Management, Marketing, Business Development, Legal, and Operations to manage strategic projects, practice investments, communications, leadership meetings, annual planning, and business performance. The BIM plays a critical role in helping the ENR practice execute its growth strategy, strengthen collaboration across regions, and enhance its market impact. Reporting to the Global ENR Leader, the Americas ENR Leader, and the Director of Business Impact, the Business Impact Manager serves as a trusted advisor and execution partner for the practice leadership team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in professional services, including strategic project management and client interaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives, with strong storytelling and communication skills, strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills, with proficiency in data modeling and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including familiarity with generative AI and work-optimization tools.
  • Proven track record of building and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including executive audiences.
  • Keen sense for identifying business opportunities and challenges from multiple perspectives.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects, operating independently, and adhering to tight business deadlines.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, adept with dealing with confidential matters, and responsive to ad-hoc requests.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and demonstrated strength in being a self-starter and acting effectively with limited oversight.
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and maintain the structured working environment of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, articulation, and implementation of strategic plans and operational initiatives across the Practice.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Practice Leadership Team, driving agendas that support key objectives, and ensuring alignment between strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Execute projects aligned with practice's strategic priorities, leveraging resources and expertise from across the firm to achieve outcomes.
  • Facilitate leadership and team meetings, ensuring agendas are purposeful, outcomes are tracked, and strategic priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Develop and draft insightful internal communications and comprehensive business cases to support strategic decision-making and investments.
  • Oversee the organization and execution of team events and activities, aligning them with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate and manage global projects that support the practice's strategic direction and operational framework.
  • Work in partnership with finance and practice leadership to develop, maintain, and track investments, ensuring efficient budgeting processes.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support annual budgeting and capacity planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure the effective management of both 'hard-' and 'soft-dollar' investments to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with talent management to set strategic recruiting goals, interview senior candidates, and develop data-driven analysis to inform recruiting strategies.
  • Manage onboarding and integration processes for new joiners, especially at senior levels, ensuring alignment with practice goals.
  • Drive employee retention and attrition analyses, developing strategic insights to enhance human capital management.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review process and objective-setting in conjunction with talent management, ensuring alignment with practice's strategic priorities.
  • Analyze and enhance the practice's commercial effectiveness through strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Support client and client team requests, working collaboratively with departments like Legal, Finance, and IT to address strategic challenges and opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies, shaping the editorial calendar, and coordinating event logistics to support practice visibility and client engagement.
