Business & Entrepreneurship Program Manager

SailFutureSt. Petersburg, FL

About The Position

The SailFuture Academy is a private non-profit high school in St. Petersburg, Florida, focused on developing an exceptional model for system-involved youth and families experiencing extreme poverty. The academy aims to make education accessible to hard-to-reach youth, empowering them towards economic freedom and social mobility through a pragmatic high school experience. Students engage in foundational academics, character development, in-house internships, and external apprenticeships. A unique aspect of the program is a 7-week international rite-of-passage sailing expedition. The Business and Entrepreneurship curriculum is central to the academy's hands-on approach, where students create and manage their own business ventures. This includes projects like designing and selling t-shirts, conducting business consultations, or facilitating sales of products. Instructors also serve as thesis advisors for the senior class's business plan projects, dedicating two classes weekly to guide students in developing a venture-backable business plan. The curriculum is developed in-house, allowing for collaboration with school leadership and significant creative freedom.
