About The Position

The Business Engagement Specialist administers the SNAP Employment and Training program in Wyoming and builds relationships with businesses in local communities. The role supports participants in developing employment skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency, and helps connect them with the skills and tools needed to obtain and sustain employment. The specialist works with participants before and after they find work, coaching them through challenges and supporting career advancement. The position also develops relationships among businesses, nonprofit organizations, and Easterseals-Goodwill staff across the state.

Requirements

Excellent oral, written, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
Working knowledge of community resources and employers.
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Proven interviewing, counseling, and customer service skills.
Ability to move quickly and easily from one task to another.
Ability to manage change with a positive attitude.
Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
Must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements.
Completion of a background check is required.
0–2 years of experience.
Proven experience with job development and/or employment placement.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in social services or a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Administer the SNAP Employment and Training program in Wyoming.
Build relationships with businesses and develop a network of businesses, nonprofit organizations, and Easterseals-Goodwill staff across the state.
Work with participants to build confidence and pursue employment goals that support improved income and self-reliance.
Coach participants through challenges before and after they obtain employment.
Help participants identify and present their skills through resume and cover letter development.
Provide interview preparation and job skills training.
Work with participants and document services and progress to support success in their new jobs.
Coach participants on career advancement opportunities.
Provide customer-focused support, positive reinforcement, and manage competing priorities.
