Business Development Team Lead

BrinqaAustin, TX

About The Position

Brinqa is seeking a Business Development Team Lead to join their growing team. This role is crucial for connecting with security leaders and enhancing the performance of the Business Development Representative (BDR) team. The position involves direct prospecting, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring the BDR team meets its goals. It offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance into sales leadership, improve team execution, and contribute to building a company from its foundation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in cybersecurity, SaaS, or IT.
  • Demonstrated quota attainment as a BDR/SDR.
  • Prior experience informally leading, mentoring, or training other reps (official management experience not required, but a track record of improving others' performance is).
  • Strong communication skills: clear, professional, personable, and capable of giving direct, constructive feedback.
  • Comfort navigating both cold outreach and warm inbound leads, and coaching others through these processes.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple conversations, priorities, and team members' workloads simultaneously.
  • Fluency with tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and Outreach or Salesloft, including reporting and pipeline dashboards.
  • A genuine interest in cybersecurity and in developing other people, beyond just closing personal activity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting demand generation or marketing programs.
  • Working knowledge of security, risk, or compliance tools.
  • Prior experience building or improving BDR playbooks, call scripts, or onboarding materials.
  • A degree is considered a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the first interaction with prospects, managing both inbound inquiries and direct outreach, and maintaining a personal pipeline-generation quota.
  • Qualify leads by understanding business needs, identifying challenges, and demonstrating how Brinqa's solutions can address them.
  • Coach, mentor, and onboard BDR team members, sharing best practices for calls, outreach sequences, and objection handling.
  • Monitor team activity, pipeline health, and quota attainment, proactively identifying and addressing performance gaps.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales leadership to convert qualified leads into opportunities and refine the lead-to-opportunity handoff process.
  • Conduct team pipeline reviews and report on team-level metrics and results to management.
  • Follow up on marketing campaigns and events, assisting the team in prioritizing and distributing resulting lead flow.
  • Participate in field sales meetings and virtual events to stay informed about messaging and target audience, relaying insights back to the team.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the team regarding tooling, processes, and prospect interactions.
  • Maintain organized lead activity and notes in Salesforce and tools like Outreach or Salesloft, ensuring consistent team-wide data hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain the team's understanding of Brinqa's competitive positioning and leverage this to refine team messaging.

Benefits

  • Insight Partners provided Brinqa with a way to provide their cybersecurity platform product to more enterprise companies by building their employee base with expertise in Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services and People.
