About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to identify and develop new client opportunities for our Payroll, HR, Benefits, and workforce solutions. This is a new-business development and prospecting role designed for someone who enjoys opening doors, connecting with business owners and decision-makers, and creating opportunities. The BDR will focus heavily on outbound prospecting, networking, referral development, and scheduling qualified appointments with prospective clients. This is not a traditional account management position. Your primary responsibility is to build the pipeline and generate new client opportunities. The ideal candidate is competitive, professional, persistent, and comfortable communicating with business owners, executives, HR leaders, finance professionals, property management companies, and other organizational decision-makers.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, recruiting, staffing, account management, or outbound prospecting preferred.
  • Previous experience in Payroll, HR, HRIS, Benefits, PEO, Staffing, Insurance, Recruiting, or Professional Services is highly desirable.
  • Existing relationships within the Dallas–Fort Worth business community are a plus.
  • Experience prospecting business owners, HR leaders, CFOs, controllers, or executive-level decision-makers preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for networking events and prospect meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect & Generate New Business: Make consistent outbound calls to prospective clients to introduce our Payroll, HR, Benefits, and workforce solutions. Identify businesses that may benefit from changing payroll providers, outsourcing HR functions, improving benefits administration, or consolidating workforce solutions. Generate qualified appointments and new client opportunities through telephone prospecting, email outreach, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and in-person business development. Research prospective companies and identify appropriate decision-makers. Develop targeted prospect lists and outreach strategies. Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales cycle. Re-engage prospects based on payroll conversion dates, benefit renewal dates, organizational changes, and other potential buying opportunities.
  • Build Relationships: Develop relationships with business owners, executives, HR professionals, controllers, CFOs, operations leaders, and other key decision-makers. Establish referral relationships with CPAs, insurance brokers, benefits professionals, financial advisors, commercial bankers, business consultants, and other strategic partners. Attend networking events, industry associations, business groups, and community events to expand the company's market presence. Represent the company professionally and confidently in all client and prospect interactions. Build long-term relationships that generate referrals and future business opportunities.
  • Qualify Opportunities: Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospective clients' needs, including: Current payroll and HR providers, Number of employees and locations, Payroll frequency, HR and compliance challenges, Benefits administration, Workers' compensation, Timekeeping and attendance, Recruiting and onboarding, Employee relations, HRIS technology, Current service challenges, Contract or renewal dates, Potential implementation timelines. Determine whether the prospect represents a qualified opportunity and coordinate the appropriate next steps with sales leadership.
  • Support the Sales Process: Schedule qualified discovery meetings, demonstrations, and proposal meetings. Work closely with sales leadership and internal subject-matter experts to develop solutions for prospective clients. Assist with gathering information needed for pricing, proposals, demonstrations, and presentations. Participate in prospect meetings when appropriate. Maintain communication with prospects to keep opportunities moving forward. Support a smooth transition from prospect to client after an agreement is executed.
  • Manage Your Pipeline: Maintain accurate and timely prospect information within the company's CRM. Document calls, meetings, decision-makers, follow-up dates, opportunities, and next steps. Maintain an organized pipeline of short-term and long-term opportunities. Track prospect renewal dates and future follow-up opportunities. Meet established activity, appointment, pipeline, and revenue goals. Provide regular pipeline updates and forecasts to sales leadership.
