About The Position

Odyssey Logistics is seeking a Business Development Representative for its 3PL freight brokerage business. The role focuses on organically developing a book of business by prospecting mid-market shippers, managing the sales cycle from prospecting through close and launch, and earning base salary plus uncapped commission. The representative is supported by the company's logistics operations, including LTL and FTL customer operations and a carrier sales team.

The position is open to candidates in the Kennesaw, Georgia area who will work onsite, or candidates in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area who will initially work remotely, with an expectation of transitioning to an onsite schedule as Odyssey expands its regional presence. Relocation allowance will not be considered unless specifically addressed. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, or transportation sales.
• Working knowledge of truckload and/or LTL.
• Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce or a similar platform.
• A hunter mentality and confidence with phone and email outreach.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or logistics.
• Existing carrier or shipper relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prospect mid-market shippers by phone, email, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn.
• Conduct discovery calls to uncover new opportunities.
• Build proposals and pricing with the team.
• Manage new accounts through onboarding before handing them off to account management.
• Manage the full sales cycle: prospect, pitch, close, and launch.
