About The Position

The Brokerage Operations Representative builds and grows relationships with truckload carriers within CJ Logistics Brokerage. The role covers loads with vetted carriers while ensuring profitability and service. The position is hybrid and based at the Des Plaines, Illinois office, with regular onsite presence required four days per week or as directed by the company. Work hours may vary by shift assignment and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs. CJ Logistics provides integrated multimodal logistics services and supply chain solutions across North America, with a focus on regulated industries including food and beverage, consumer-packaged goods, healthcare and medical supplies, and tire and automotive. Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in carrier sales or brokerage operations and management.
Experience with rate negotiations and load execution.
Experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS).
Experience working with Mercury Gate TMS, DAT, FourKites, Convoy for Brokers, and Google.
Ability to persuade, motivate, influence, and negotiate with carriers.
Experience working in a brokerage or spot environment and an entrepreneurial mentality.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Office and Trucker Tools.

Responsibilities

Use industry experience to attract, develop, and grow relationships with truckload carriers.
Learn, follow, and suggest improvements to processes and systems.
Negotiate and manage spot rates, contracts, terms, and renewals with carriers, and submit them to the manager for approval.
Use CJ technology tools to negotiate competitive pricing, promote automation, and create efficiencies for carrier partners.
Communicate consistently with carriers to manage customer expectations and ensure timely delivery.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required within the scope of training and expertise.
