About The Position

Aerobotics is a global company that analyzes trees from the sky and fruit up close to help farmers make critical operational and agricultural decisions that maximize yield and efficiency. The company is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead and scale its business across Italy. This role requires Go-To-Market expertise and top-tier enterprise sales skills, with a focus on face-to-face client execution and closing complex, high-value B2B deals. The Business Development Manager will work closely with global leadership, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment between market needs and product delivery. The role can be based in North Italy (near Trentino-Alto Adige or Emilia-Romagna) or South Italy (near Puglia, Calabria or Apulia), with a central location like Bologna also considered. The position involves regular travel across assigned regions to meet growers, co-ops, and packing operations, with a significant portion of working time spent on the road. The role offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of AgTech innovation and shape the future of farming.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in agribusiness or AgTech
  • Background or experience in agriculture is preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and drive results without direct supervision
  • World-Class service delivery & customer-centric attitude
  • Business-level English
  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Valid work permit for Italy

Responsibilities

  • Develop a customer strategy to optimize growth for the entire region
  • Sell & deliver products to a wide range of horticultural customers
  • Work with cutting-edge technology in agriculture
  • Direct impact on the future of precision farming
  • Identify and build relationships with new customers in the horticultural sector
  • Provide hands-on product demonstrations and training at farms and offices
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth and profitability
  • Develop, implement and achieve revenue & profitability targets aligned with Aerobotics forecasts
  • Optimize the customer decision journey to minimize spend and resources, and to maximize purchases and repurchases
  • Collaborate with internal teams in Europe, Latam and South Africa to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Partner with the Product team to uncover new customer needs & inform product development
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities
  • Regular travel within the region to meet customers, and at times, attend conferences as and where necessary.
