About The Position

LG Electronics is seeking a Business Development Manager to open new customers for our Smart Factory Solutions business in North America. This is an individual contributor role within the Smart Factory Solutions sales organization, owning new business from first contact through purchase order. The Manager leads with consulting engagements such as feasibility studies, simulation, and digital twin work that define automation requirements, and converts them into automation hardware and integration programs. Our customers are manufacturing and logistics operations across automotive and EV, battery, semiconductor and electronics, logistics and fulfillment, aerospace and defense, industrial machinery, and other discrete manufacturing sectors. This role focuses on new customer acquisition. Existing enterprise accounts are managed separately within the sales organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years in business development or solution sales in industrial automation, robotics, material handling, or smart factory solutions
  • Proven record of opening new enterprise customers and closing capital equipment or automation programs with extended sales cycles
  • Experience selling to plant operations, manufacturing engineering, and procurement in discrete manufacturing or logistics environments
  • Executive presence and the ability to translate automation value into operational and financial terms for plant and corporate decision makers
  • Self directed pipeline builder, comfortable operating as an individual contributor within a small, growing team
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing automation, robotics, simulation, and digital transformation

Responsibilities

  • Build and own a target account list of manufacturing and logistics operations across North America, prioritized by automation need and decision path
  • Open executive and plant leadership relationships at target accounts and qualify opportunities for autonomous mobile robots, automated transport, collaborative robot cells, simulation and digital twin, and turnkey integration
  • Lead opportunities from first engagement through proposal, negotiation, and purchase order, including consulting entry engagements that specify follow on hardware programs
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast and report progress against new customer and purchase order goals
  • Develop partnerships with third party logistics providers, system integrators, and technology partners that create repeatable deployment paths
  • Represent LG in industry associations, consortiums, and trade events to generate qualified opportunities
  • Work with Technical Sales Engineers and Engineering to scope solutions, prepare RFI and RFQ responses, and confirm technical feasibility before any commitment is made to a customer
  • Operate within the company's pricing, contracting, and commercial approval framework
  • Hand off awarded programs to Program Management with complete scope, schedule, and commercial documentation
