About The Position

The Business Development Manager is accountable for meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual targets within their assigned territory. This role involves identifying, researching, planning, and contacting new clients, coordinating the transfer of account ownership to Account Managers, and providing accurate forecasts and pipelines. The position requires reporting on market developments, analyzing trends, and competitor activities. Collaboration with internal sales support groups (Marketing, Sales Development, Sales Operations) is essential for supporting initiatives and lead generation. The role also ensures timely completion of client quotes, service agreements, proposals, and RFP/tender responses. Regular reporting of sales activities using CRM systems and representing the company at trade shows and conferences are also key responsibilities. The role may also involve ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree in relevant field
  • Over 5 Years related sales/business development experience
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Deep understanding of company services and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply customer-centric selling techniques to drive results.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting/exceeding quarterly and annual targets within assigned territory.
  • Preparing individual sales plans with goals/objectives.
  • Identifying, researching, planning and contacting new clients.
  • Coordinating transfer of landed account ownership to assigned Account Manager.
  • Providing accurate forecasts and pipelines on a regular basis.
  • Reporting on developments in the marketplace, analyzing market trends, and competitor activities (market intelligence).
  • Working with sales support groups (Marketing, Sales Development, Sales Operations) to support initiatives and lead generation.
  • Ensuring client quotes, service agreements, proposals, and responses to RFPs/tenders are completed within deadlines, collaborating with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Preparing and submitting timely and accurate reports of sales activities (e.g., client visits/calls) using CRM systems.
  • Representing the company at trade shows and conferences, when approved, to build brand awareness and broaden the client base.
  • May be assigned special or related ad hoc projects from time to time.
