Business Development Lead

Legend Brands•Burlington, WA
•$80,200 - $90,200

About The Position

Legend Brands is seeking a motivated Business Development Lead to generate new business opportunities for Ready 2 Respond (R2R) through outbound prospecting, cold calling, and relationship building. The role focuses on developing new markets, verticals, strategic accounts, and qualified sales opportunities, including within higher education, healthcare, senior living, multifamily, hospitality and resorts, and municipalities. The Business Development Lead researches prospective organizations, engages senior decision-makers, and conducts discovery conversations about water-damage response models, challenges, costs, risks, and purchasing processes. The role positions R2R as an operational strategy and develops business cases focused on reduced downtime and property loss, continuity of operations, and increased internal response capability. It also helps refine prospecting processes, share market intelligence, and create scalable approaches for additional sales resources.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational certification.
  • At least 3 years of successful B2B business development, complex sales, consultative sales, or strategic account development experience.
  • Demonstrated history of creating new business rather than primarily managing existing accounts.
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills.
  • Comfort initiating conversations with senior-level decision-makers.
  • Strong phone presence and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research organizations and develop thoughtful account strategies before making contact.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sales process involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM and prospecting tools.
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new markets, verticals, strategic accounts, and business opportunities for Ready 2 Respond.
  • Develop targeted account lists and strategies for higher education, healthcare, senior living, multifamily, hospitality and resorts, municipalities, and other relevant markets.
  • Research organizations, facility portfolios, leadership structures, strategic initiatives, and potential business drivers.
  • Identify operational, financial, or risk challenges caused by an organization's current water-damage response approach.
  • Prospect through phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, conferences, associations, and referrals.
  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers and other key stakeholders.
  • Generate qualified meetings and opportunities for R2R.
  • Conduct discovery conversations about response models, challenges, costs, risks, and decision-making processes.
  • Develop opportunities from the initial conversation through qualification and handoff or close strategy.
  • Explain the business implications of the first few hours following a water event and position R2R as an operational strategy rather than simply an equipment purchase.
  • Understand customers' restoration, facilities, insurance, risk-management, and procurement processes.
  • Build business cases around reduced downtime and property loss, operational continuity, and greater internal response capability.
  • Navigate complex buying groups and identify those who influence, approve, fund, and purchase the program.
  • Develop and improve prospecting strategies, messaging, call approaches, discovery questions, and account-development processes.
  • Share market intelligence, competitive information, customer feedback, and lessons learned with Sales Leadership and the R2R team.
  • Help create scalable processes for additional Account Managers and Business Development resources.
