About The Position

The Monad Foundation is seeking a Business Development Lead for AI and Compute to develop the ecosystem at the intersection of AI infrastructure, agentic applications, and onchain markets. The role focuses on making Monad a preferred settlement layer for live AI and compute products, particularly in tradable compute, agentic payments, and related capital markets. The successful candidate will build relationships with AI founders, venture firms, compute providers, and other market participants, then turn those relationships into teams building and launching on Monad.

The role includes building Monad’s presence in San Francisco and the wider AI community, sourcing and activating teams, developing venture and crypto-native capital relationships, and recruiting participants for compute markets. The Business Development Lead will also identify and advance agentic and stablecoin payment use cases, structure and close commercial collaborations, and coordinate internal support to move integrations from strategy to launch. Success is measured through live products, users, payments, liquidity, and sustained transaction volume.

Requirements

• A record of closing and launching business development or strategic partnerships, from an initial conversation to a working product, including with growth or late-stage businesses.
• Understanding of AI business models and ability to bring together founders, venture investors, GPU providers, neoclouds, trading firms, and market makers.
• Ability to explain Monad’s value to partners, earn trust, involve technical expertise, and sustain momentum through complex integrations.
• Autonomy and judgment in building a pipeline, prioritizing use cases, setting success and failure criteria, and working effectively without a playbook.
• Collaborative, low-ego working style.
• Based in San Francisco and willing to build relationships in person across the Bay Area’s AI, compute, and crypto communities.

Responsibilities

• Build Monad’s presence in San Francisco through founders and the wider AI community.
• Develop the existing pipeline and source new teams, owning qualification, follow-up, deployment, and launch.
• Develop relationships with venture firms and crypto-native capital, turning introductions into qualified opportunities and teams building on Monad.
• Recruit protocols, index providers, curators, liquidity providers, compute operators, and trading partners for compute markets.
• Develop collaborations around compute index vaults, lending against tokenized compute, and hedging products to bring liquidity and volume to Monad.
• Find and activate teams building agent-driven and stablecoin payments, including x402 and emerging payment models, and convert integrations into real transaction activity.
• Understand partner businesses and make the case for Monad.
• Negotiate commercial arrangements across company stages, connecting traditional financial structuring with onchain execution and settlement.
• Coordinate technical, ecosystem, DeFi, communications, and legal support.
• Set priorities and milestones, remove launch blockers, and track live products, users, payments, liquidity, and sustained volume.
• Build an independent pipeline, prioritize real use cases, establish success and failure criteria, and discontinue investment in weak opportunities.
