About The Position

Engine by Starling is seeking an entrepreneurial, versatile and adaptable Business Development Consultant to help grow its North American business. Engine is Starling’s cloud-native banking software-as-a-service platform, originally built to power Starling and now offered to banks and financial institutions globally. The role will ideally be based within commuting distance of New York City or Charlotte, North Carolina, and will operate from Engine’s newly established New York regional headquarters. International travel is expected. The consultant will build client relationships, understand prospective clients’ needs and help them determine how Engine’s technology can support their goals. Working with the North American team and colleagues across product, engineering and other offices, the role will shape sustainable client relationships and develop relationships with consulting and implementation partners. The team is small, collaborative and hands-on, and works in an Agile way while adapting to the needs of each client implementation. The position covers the business development lifecycle, from early conversations, workshops and demonstrations through strategic opportunity ownership, commercial and contractual discussions, and support during client discovery and delivery. It also contributes to marketing and conference activity and to partner go-to-market efforts. The consultant will help clients understand how Engine can address their challenges through dialogue, structured analysis and presentations, while coordinating technical expertise and following through on commitments.
