About The Position

Under minimal supervision, this role assists in defining application and project scope/objectives through research, fact-finding, and applying a basic understanding of business, applications, and industry requirements. The Business Analyst III functions as a team member in the analysis of business and user needs and the implementation of appropriate technology applications. This role is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. The individual is accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on MIS &/or Finance &/or International or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Banking, Systems or Operations encompassing one or more of the product groups supported by Global Payments; ACH, Funds Transfer, Foreign Exchange, or Trade Services.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• FINRA Series 7 license preferred.
• Knowledge of the securities industry and SEC / FINRA regulations is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of strategic partnerships with the business unit in order to further develop a solid knowledge base of the business line, including the business plan, products, processes and revenue streams.
• Continue to enhance a strong base knowledge of relevant systems/applications as it relates to workflow, process, and problem resolution and provide input on improvement opportunities.
• Assume a primary role in the planning, testing, and implementation of new applications, enhancements and/or conversions.
• Provide input when working with users in defining project and application requirements.
• Provide input for or assist in the creation of detailed project plans, work assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned projects.
• Function as a primary liaison between the business line, operations, and the technical areas throughout the project cycle.
• Partner with the technical areas in the research and resolution of system and process problems.
• Review operational procedures and methods and recommend changes for improvement - with an emphasis on automation and efficiency.
• Provide users with application documentation and maintain relevant manuals, training materials and other reference materials.
• Where/when necessary, and in conjunction with the Review and Control group and operations, author application procedures and provide training to user community.
• Mentor and train/cross-train the more junior staff members within Resource Team.
• Work to expand knowledge of the industry and the applications utilized by Fifth Third Bank and Global Payments.
• Review published vendor fixes and make recommendation as to need to apply.
• Level II customer support for front-end applications.
• Provide input to manager on the performance evaluation of more junior staff members.
• In absence of manager, assumes supervisory/management responsibilities for Resource Team functions.
• May supervise small team.
