About The Position

The Business Analyst 3 performs senior-level business analysis for complex technology hardware and software projects supporting the Mainframe Reports and Extract effort. The work focuses on data analysis, investigating the root causes of data errors, documenting data flows, developing reports, and publishing data to the Open Data Portal or the client website. The role requires knowledge of Power BI, Snowflake, and data publishing, and preferably experience with oil and gas systems. The analyst gathers, develops, and documents requirements; reviews, assesses, and develops business processes; and creates and validates user acceptance testing. The role also includes research and special project support for users. The analyst is responsible for analysis and documentation across multiple interrelated reporting projects and ensures deliverables and materials follow established processes and procedures, maintain consistent quality, and use accepted business analysis methodologies. The position works under limited to minimal direction, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment, and may assign or supervise others. The position is listed as remote, located in Austin, Texas, for a 10-month duration with a possible extension.

Requirements

At least 8 years of strong interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English.
At least 8 years of experience gathering requirements and creating reports.
At least 8 years of experience facilitating the creation and analysis of business requirements and working with business-area personnel to design technical solutions.
At least 5 years of experience participating in and providing guidance for business user acceptance testing, training, and implementation-related activities.
At least 2 years of experience with Snowflake and Power BI.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
