About The Position

The Bus Person works under general supervision to perform duties related to serving guests promptly and efficiently, cleaning up, stocking the restaurant with dishes and silverware, setting up special parties and events, and completing related work. The position reports to Retail Management. It is an hourly, part-time, non-exempt union position based in Escondido, California, at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The hourly rate is $19.50. If selected, the employee will be responsible for union fees and dues.

The ideal candidate will obtain an RBS Certification and Food Handler's Card within 30 days of starting. Customer service skills are desirable, along with the ability to perform the listed duties, deal tactfully and courteously with the public, and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Perform general table service and clean-up at table-service restaurants.
• Stock the dining area with proper dishes and silverware.
• Ensure each table is correctly set up.
• Move tables, chairs, and supplies for catered events.
• Keep assigned areas clean, orderly, and safe.
• Politely answer customers’ questions regarding the organization.
