The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is inviting applications for the position of Burn Surgeon in the Ross Tilley Burn Centre. The position is a full time, permanent position. The effective date of this appointment is flexible, aiming for July 1, 2027. This is an academic position requiring clinical expertise in burn care, inclusive of burn critical care, acute burn surgery and reconstruction. The candidate will have completed a fellowship in burn surgery. This position is associated with 40% protected time for academic activities. The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification in either General Surgery or Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent. They must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The role involves training of University of Toronto medical students, residents, and clinical fellows. The successful candidate will have a mandate to conduct academic work, and must possess a graduate degree (Masters or PhD equivalent) and documented expertise in their appropriate area of academic activity. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to advance the strategic goals and vision of the Tory Trauma Program, Divisions of General and/or Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.
