About The Position

The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is seeking a Bulk Department Specialist to provide product knowledge, attention to detail, organizational skills, and inventory control expertise in its Bulk Department. The role combines customer service, data management, and operational support to keep shelves stocked, systems running smoothly, and shoppers satisfied. The specialist serves as a resource for staff, members, and shoppers; supports inventory, pricing, replenishment, and merchandising; maintains an organized warehouse; mentors new staff; and shares vendor and product updates with the team.

Requirements

• Organized and detail-oriented, with skill in tracking inventory and following processes.
• Friendly, helpful, and responsive to shopper needs.
• Collaborative communicator who works well in a team environment.
• Experience with inventory control, including understanding inventory-level management and warehouse organization.
• Data management experience working with Excel and POS systems.
• Understanding of invoicing and margins.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in coolers, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a go-to resource for staff, members, and shoppers.
• Review invoices, track inventory, and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Support the replenishment buying team with order guide and inventory management support.
• Support merchandising plans and maintain an organized and labeled warehouse.
• Mentor new staff and assist with daily operations.
• Share vendor updates and product changes with the team.
