About The Position
The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is seeking a Bulk Department Specialist to support the Bulk Department through customer service, data management, inventory control, and operational support. The role helps keep shelves stocked, systems running smoothly, and shoppers satisfied. The position also supports local food systems, sustainability, and healthy living. A $500 hiring bonus is available to external candidates, paid after six months of employment.
Requirements
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, including inventory tracking and following processes.
- Customer-service focus and ability to respond helpfully to shopper needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with a team.
- Inventory control experience, including understanding inventory-level management and warehouse organization.
- Ability to work with Excel and POS systems.
- Understanding of invoicing and margins.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in coolers, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for staff, members, and shoppers.
- Review invoices, track inventory, and ensure pricing accuracy.
- Support the replenishment buying team with order guide and inventory management.
- Support merchandising plans and maintain an organized, labeled warehouse.
- Mentor new staff and assist with daily operations.
- Share vendor updates and product changes with the team.
