The BTJ Service Plumber is a vital part of the U.S. Engineering Service team and is responsible for planning and performing maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing systems.

Requirements

  • Current Building Trades Journeyman Plumber status.
  • Basic Hand Tools (advanced tools will be provided).
  • Must possess basic plumbing skills and piping assembly (soldering, brazing etc.).
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Strong Work Ethic.
  • Ability to work as a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Med gas certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
  • Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold-water lines.
  • Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
  • Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
  • Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Respond to plumbing calls as required.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts.
  • Responsible for the coordination with Area Owners for tasks that could impact their area and /or process.
  • Provide additional assistance to fellow Team Members.
  • Identify issues and request work orders as needed to repair issues.
  • Obtain quotes and send purchases requests to purchasing agent.
  • Communicate and document all issues, concerns and tasks performed.

  • Minimum wage ($60.51) and benefits according to current agreement with Plumber & Gas Fitters Local 8.
