About The Position

Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a versatile, dependable, and enthusiastic Building Substitute Teacher to serve students across Preschool through Grade 12 during the 2026-2027 school year. This permanent substitute position is ideal for an experienced educator or skilled substitute teacher who enjoys variety, thrives in dynamic environments, and is confident managing classrooms across multiple grade levels and subject areas. The successful candidate will provide classroom coverage for teachers and specialists as needed throughout the school year and must be comfortable stepping into a wide range of instructional settings with professionalism, flexibility, and confidence.

Requirements

  • Mature Christian faith and the ability to nurture this faith in students.
  • Proven experience effectively managing classrooms while maintaining a spirit of grace, structure, and community.
  • Flexibility and confidence to work with students from Preschool through Grade 12 in a variety of classroom settings and subject areas.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments, routines, and instructional expectations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Willingness to support and uphold a classical Christian educational philosophy.
  • Professionalism, reliability, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to sign CCA’s Statement of Faith and Core Values.
  • Willingness to maintain the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience.
  • Substantial relevant experience working with children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom coverage for teachers and specialists as needed throughout the school year.
  • Step into a wide range of instructional settings with professionalism, flexibility, and confidence.
  • Assume full classroom responsibility in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Serve as a Christian role model and mentor to students, parents, faculty, and staff.
