About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks in the operation and maintenance of district facilities. The Building Engineer III performs complex maintenance and repair work on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems. This role may also involve supervising and training other maintenance staff. The job requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all building systems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Five (5) years of experience in building maintenance and repair, with a focus on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
Ability to pass a background check.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical manuals.
Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Responsibilities

Perform complex maintenance and repair work on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with building systems.
Operate and maintain building systems to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
Supervise and train other maintenance staff as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Assist with the planning and execution of maintenance projects.
Manage inventory of parts and supplies.
