About The Position

The Building Attendant works in Environmental Services at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, New York. The role maintains sanitary and attractive surroundings, provides excellent customer service, and follows safety and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA and MSDS practices. This is a per diem position scheduled from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

• Follow OSHA and MSDS safety practices.
• Meet the role's physical requirements, which include physically intensive work such as lifting materials up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of industrial or institutional cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, operating rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Handle trash and waste disposal in compliance with applicable standards.
• Maintain floors and carpets by stripping, waxing, and shampooing them.
• Ensure walkways are safe and accessible.
• Provide responsive assistance to patients, visitors, and staff, with a focus on customer service and satisfaction.
• Follow OSHA and MSDS safety practices.
• Collaborate with the department to achieve its goals.
