About The Position

Charter Homes & Neighborhoods is seeking an experienced Builder to lead multiple complex residential construction projects in Western Pennsylvania, including current developments and future projects. The Builder coordinates internal teams and external Trade Partners to deliver homes according to plan, safely, efficiently, on time, and on budget. Success includes following the Build Playbook and creating a positive experience for homeowners. The role manages construction from pre-construction through final delivery, interpreting plans and communicating construction requirements, maintaining project schedules, coordinating with Trade Partners, suppliers, and inspectors, and ensuring work complies with local codes, zoning requirements, and architectural specifications. It oversees all stages of home construction and holds Trade Partners accountable for quality, timelines, and safety. The successful candidate is a skilled construction professional with at least two years of construction experience managing day-to-day responsibilities across multiple complex projects. They can manage projects, communicate clearly, solve problems, set priorities, and manage time effectively, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and consistently high standards. The role also requires listening to homeowners and communicating with them clearly and promptly.

Requirements

At least 2 years of construction experience.
Experience managing day-to-day responsibilities for multiple complex construction projects.
Experience leveraging internal teams and external Trade Partners to deliver projects safely, efficiently, on time, and according to plan.
Ability to manage construction projects, communicate clearly, solve problems, set priorities, and manage time wisely.
Examples of commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-standard, error-free work.
Notable experience as a construction professional.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee multiple complex residential construction projects.
Coordinate internal teams and Trade Partners to deliver homes according to plan, safely, efficiently, on time, and on budget.
Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and structural plans, and communicate construction intent and technical details to team members and Trade Partners.
Ensure work aligns with local codes, zoning requirements, and architectural specifications.
Maintain accurate project schedules, monitor critical tasks, and proactively make adjustments as needed.
Manage the homebuilding process from pre-construction through final delivery, coordinating with Trade Partners, suppliers, and inspectors on project scope, timelines, and milestones.
Oversee all stages of home construction, including excavation, utility trenching, foundation preparation, framing, roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, interior and exterior finishes, and landscaping.
Maintain strong relationships with Trade Partners and hold them accountable for craftsmanship, timelines, and safety compliance.
Enforce jobsite safety.
Make homeowners feel special by listening generously and communicating clearly and promptly.
