Build Reliability Engineer I

Relativity Space•Long Beach, CA

About The Position

The Build Reliability Engineer I will help embed reliability and quality throughout the Terran R design and production process. The role works closely with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to understand hardware and operational constraints, shape decisions, and establish processes, controls, and inspections that scale as the program moves from development into production and scaled operations. Areas of ownership may include design standardization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and configuration management and control; reviewing work instructions and developing processes and standard rework or repair documentation; performing in-process build verification and coordinating travelled work; and supporting nonconformance processes, as-built verification, and root cause and corrective action. The engineer will drive initiatives that facilitate quality in the growing launch vehicle program, potentially including specification development, walk-down checklists, quality inspection automation, and DFM practices. The role also develops working relationships with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams so company objectives can be met.
