Build Reliability Engineer I

Relativity Space•Long Beach, CA
•$90,000 - $136,000

About The Position

Relativity Space is developing its Terran R launch vehicle to deliver customer payloads to orbit and meet growing demand for launch capacity. The Reliability team works across design, manufacturing, test, and launch to build reliability into Terran R’s design and production processes. As the program advances toward production and scaled operations, the team establishes processes, controls, and inspections that manage risk without impeding progress. The Build Reliability Engineer I will drive initiatives that support quality across the launch vehicle program. Areas of ownership may include design drawing standardization, design for manufacturability (DFM), configuration management and control, work instruction review, process development, standard rework and repair documentation, in-process build verification, coordination of travelled work, nonconformance ticket processes, as-built verification, and root-cause and corrective-action activities. Projects may also involve specification development, walk-down checklists, quality-inspection automation, and support for DFM practices. The role develops working relationships with Engineering, Additive, Manufacturing, Test, and Launch teams.
