Part-Time Budtender
About The Position
The Budtender provides exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and a positive, educational shopping experience. The role involves understanding customers’ preferences, making personalized recommendations, explaining product effects and safe consumption, and supporting responsible and informed cannabis use. Budtenders also maintain the store environment, process sales and cash transactions, follow company policies and applicable regulations, and collaborate with the team and Management Team on store operations. This is a part-time role at the Every Day Weed location in Telluride, Colorado, paying $19.84 per hour plus tips. Schedules vary according to business needs; stores operate seven days a week, with hours varying by location and including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds or more multiple times per day.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in Colorado.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers professionally and listen to their preferences and needs.
- Provide product insights and personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and intended use.
- Educate customers about cannabis products, potential effects, benefits, and safe consumption methods.
- Keep the store neat and visually appealing, and maintain organized product displays.
- Stay current on industry trends, product releases, and regulations to provide accurate information.
- Handle cash transactions and use the point-of-sale system to process sales.
- Follow company policies and procedures and comply with state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment.
- Support the Management Team with store activities, customer assistance, checkouts, and cash handling.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Management Team.
