About The Position

Proper Brands is seeking full-time Budtenders, also called Proper Care Specialists, to support its Missouri medical and recreational cannabis business. The role focuses on creating positive and memorable experiences for customers while ensuring their safety and satisfaction. Budtenders use product knowledge to educate customers and offer recommendations suited to their needs while complying with state law. They also support sales and inventory accuracy, maintain a clean dispensary, and collaborate with the retail team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience in retail and guest services.
Passion for cannabis.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-service-oriented and team-centered, with a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the medicinal implications and effects of Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains.
Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by the start date; this may require submitting fingerprints and passing a criminal background check.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, stand, and carry and lift up to 30 pounds in an environmentally controlled retail store.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Missouri cannabis laws and regulations.
At least 1 year of cannabis retail experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive, memorable experience for each customer while ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
Maintain thorough knowledge of dispensary products and their medicinal qualities.
Educate customers about available products and tailor recommendations to their needs in compliance with state law.
Answer product questions, gather feedback from returning customers to refine recommendations, and act as a brand ambassador.
Enter sales orders into the POS system, process payments, dispense change, and maintain an accurate cash count in the assigned drawer.
Accurately update sales and inventory records while maintaining customer confidentiality.
Maintain dispensary cleanliness according to hygiene and sanitation guidelines, including completing assigned side jobs.
Back up team members, help maintain customer flow, and collaborate with dispensary staff during peak business volume.
Attend team meetings and maintain professional, positive, and effective working relationships.
