About The Position

Proper Brands is seeking a part-time Budtender (Cannabis Patient Care Specialist) for its retail team in University City, Missouri. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional experience to medical cannabis patients, processing dispensary sales accurately, and completing administrative duties that support smooth dispensary operations. The schedule includes weekends and may include evening shifts during the week. The role may require travel up to 10% of the time. The Budtender creates a positive and memorable patient experience, maintains knowledge of dispensary products and their medicinal qualities, and educates patients about products while tailoring recommendations to their needs in compliance with state law. The role also processes payments and sales through the POS system, maintains cash and inventory records, and supports team operations, cleanliness, confidentiality, and patient flow. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience in retail and guest services.
Passion for medical cannabis.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-service orientation, a team-centered approach, and a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the medicinal implications and effects of Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by the start date, including submitting fingerprints and passing a criminal background check.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, stand, carry, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Missouri medical cannabis laws and regulations.
At least 1 year of cannabis retail experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive, memorable experience for every patient and ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
Maintain thorough knowledge of dispensary products and their medicinal qualities.
Ask patients about potential issues and educate them about products that may meet their desired outcomes.
Tailor product recommendations to patient needs in compliance with state law, answer product questions, and use feedback from returning patients to customize recommendations.
Serve as a brand ambassador, support team members as needed, maintain patient flow, and protect patient confidentiality.
Enter sales orders into the POS system and process patient payments and change accurately.
Maintain an accurate cash count in the assigned drawer and update sales and inventory records accurately.
Attend team meetings, collaborate with dispensary staff during peak business periods as directed, and perform assigned dispensary side jobs.
Maintain dispensary cleanliness and follow hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
Maintain professional, positive, and effective working relationships.
