About The Position

Virtua Medical Group, a physician-led organization, is seeking an experienced Breast Surgeon to join its well-established and growing breast surgery team. This is a full-time, employed position within Virtua Health, a leading health system in Southern New Jersey. The breast surgeons and advanced practice providers in this role are 100% breast-focused, offering comprehensive surgical care for patients with both benign and malignant breast disease. The team is dedicated to using the latest surgical techniques, technology, and equipment to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The position is integrated within the Penn Medicine | Virtua Health Cancer Program, offering access to a leading academic-affiliated oncology network and comprehensive cancer care. The breast program is NAPBC-accredited and supported by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. A comprehensive, patient-centered care model is in place, with close collaboration among various support teams to ensure seamless continuity of care. The role involves shared breast surgery call on a two-week rotation. A strong clinical support structure is provided, including advanced practice providers, a nurse coordinator, and a dedicated surgical scheduler. The position offers a well-established referral network, consistent case volume, and opportunities for program growth. Candidates will join a collegial, collaborative team within a physician-led organization that values innovation, teamwork, and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Fellowship trained in breast surgery.
  • Prior experience practicing as a breast surgeon.
  • Board certified or board eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with both benign and malignant breast disease.
  • Utilize the latest surgical techniques, technology, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including breast radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, medical oncology, and radiation oncology.
  • Work closely with nurse navigators, genetic counselors, research coordinators, social workers, rehabilitation services, and home care teams.
  • Participate in shared breast surgery call on a two-week rotation.
