About The Position

RP Sol is seeking a fellowship-trained breast radiologist for an independent contractor opportunity in Tucson, Arizona. This is a dedicated 100% breast imaging role available on a full-time or part-time basis. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Thursday, with no call, weekend, or holiday coverage. The radiologist will cover the full spectrum of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography (2D and 3D tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, stereotactic breast biopsies, breast wire (needle) localizations, and breast MRI interpretation. RP Tucson has merged with RP Sol to provide radiology services across Northwest Healthcare, a large integrated health system in southern Arizona. The physician-led group supports four acute-care hospitals, multiple freestanding emergency departments, 17 urgent care centers, and a multispecialty physician group of roughly 100 providers. Breast imaging is centered at the Northwest Medical Center and Northwest Medical Center Houghton women’s imaging centers, which have 3D mammography and a full breast imaging suite. The position is an independent contractor (1099) role paid on a per-shift basis, at up to $4,250 per shift. At four shifts per week, shift pay alone is estimated at roughly $884,000 annually for 208 shifts, with the exact amount depending on the number of holidays in a given year. Contractors are also eligible for a productivity bonus. Travel, lodging, and related expenses are covered for contractors traveling from out of state. Final terms may vary based on experience, certifications, subspecialty skill set, productivity, and number of shifts worked.
