About The Position

TELUS Health, specifically the Vancouver Breast Centre, is seeking a skilled Radiologist specializing in breast imaging to join their healthcare team. This role is crucial for the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases, requiring expertise in breast pathology, interpretation, and patient-centered care. The goal is to deliver accurate and timely diagnostics to identify breast diseases at their earliest, most treatable stages.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience as a radiologist.
  • Five years of experience in breast imaging.
  • Thrives in an interdisciplinary team-based environment with the proven ability to collaborate and support others.
  • Proven strategic thinker who fosters collaboration, innovation, and creativity.
  • Excellent problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Practices medicine in British Columbia and holds a valid Certificate of Registration with the College.
  • Medical liability insurance coverage through Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
  • Comfortable with using an EMR, PACS, and radiology information systems (RIS), and workplace technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ultrasound-guided breast interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized expertise in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases.
  • Supervise and interpret a wide range of breast imaging studies, including diagnostic mammography (2D and 3D/tomosynthesis) and breast ultrasound.
  • Deliver timely and accurate diagnostic reports, ensuring clear communication of findings to referring physicians and patients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, medical imaging technologists, and ultrasound technologists to optimize imaging protocols.
  • Actively participate in and support quality assurance programs, peer review, and accreditation processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to technologists on breast imaging protocols, best practices, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of advancements in breast imaging technology and clinical guidelines.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, workflow efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
