About The Position

The Brand Manager - Safer® is the owner of Woodstream’s Safer® portfolio, accountable for driving sustainable, profitable growth through disciplined portfolio management, strong commercial execution, and cross‑functional leadership. This role is responsible for translating strategy into clear, executable plans and results, leading initiatives that deliver annual Net Invoice Sales (NIS), EBITDA, and retail dollar share growth ahead of category performance. The Brand Manager operates as a general manager of the brand, balancing long-term brand health with near-term financial performance across product, pricing, promotion, and distribution: Full ownership of brand strategy, annual plans and performance results across P&L, portfolio, and execution Accountability for growth levers including: Product innovation (in conjunction with NPD team) and lifecycle management Pricing, promotion, and mix optimization Distribution growth and retailer/ shelf execution Marketing communications strategy + investment effectiveness and ROI Active leadership within corporate priorities framework to focus resources on the highest-impact growth opportunities Close partnership with Sales and Trade Marketing to drive successful line reviews, new item launches, and customer-specific growth strategies In addition to strong business management and P&L understanding, the Brand Manager of Safer must be a team builder and people leader –positively evolving the culture of the company and the Brand Marketing function. Frequent and collaborative interactions with CEO, CMO, CFO, EVP Global Sales, as well as the heads of all departments is expected. Occasional engagement with and presentation to Woodstream’s Board of Directors may be required.

Requirements

  • College degree: BA/BS required
  • 5+ years of Sales/Marketing or other relevant experience
  • Computer literacy including all Microsoft Software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical ability
  • Ability to present complex concepts

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute multi-year brand and portfolio strategies that deliver sustained, profitable growth
  • Identify whitespace opportunities through consumer insights, competitive analysis, and performance data
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear annual plans, KPIs, and execution roadmaps
  • Own and manage the brand P&L, delivering against NIS, EBITDA, and contribution margin targets
  • Monitor performance vs. plan and proactively adjust strategy and tactics to achieve business objectives
  • Actively support ProTrack and margin improvement initiatives across the portfolio
  • Lead and align cross-functional teams against shared priorities, proactively identifying risks, resolving executional challenges, and ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to develop and execute customer growth strategies, including new item sell-ins, line reviews, and distribution expansion opportunities
  • Collaborate with Digital and eCommerce teams to optimize online sales performance, ensuring paid media, content, and conversion drivers work together to maximize sales and ROI
  • Work with Creative Team to develop compelling, insight-driven content and brand assets across packaging, digital, and retail touchpoints
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Demand Planning teams to ensure efficient production, accurate forecasting and on-time, in-full product delivery
  • Proactively identify risks, remove barriers, and ensure cross-functional alignment to deliver business results
  • Leverage consumer, category, and performance data to inform strategy, identify growth opportunities, and drive prioritization
  • Incorporate inputs such as consumer reviews, digital performance metrics and retail data to uncover insights and drive continuous improvement across the shopper journey
  • Translate data into clear actions that improve product positioning, marketing effectiveness, and retail performance
  • Use a test-and-learn approach to continuously refine strategies and improve conversion, engagement, and ROI across channels
  • Demonstrate strong ability to influence and collaborate across levels and functions, building alignment and driving results
  • Exhibit a growth mindset, resilience, and adaptability in navigating challenges and evolving business needs
