About The Position

Carrier Enterprise is seeking a part-time Branch Sales Associate for its Mathews, North Carolina location. The associate serves as a customer-facing representative of the branch, providing service, product knowledge, and support to HVAC/R professionals and contractors. The role combines sales and customer assistance with inventory and warehouse support. Part-time employees are eligible for limited company-sponsored benefits, including participation in the 401(k) plan after applicable eligibility requirements are met, and may have a pathway to full-time employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access products and supplies.

• Previous customer-facing experience, preferably in the HVAC/R industry or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R products, equipment, and components.
• Excellent customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and team-oriented mindset.
• Prior forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide product advice, information, and recommendations to help them select HVAC/R products and supplies.
• Process customer orders accurately, confirming availability, pricing, and invoicing.
• Maintain knowledge of HVAC/R product inventory, specifications, compatibility, and pricing.
• Monitor and replenish floor stock, conduct inventory counts, and report discrepancies to the Branch Manager.
• Help customers troubleshoot technical issues related to HVAC/R equipment and components.
• Promote sales initiatives and special offers and identify appropriate opportunities to upsell products.
• Support warehouse operations by receiving, inspecting, and stocking merchandise.
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock replenishment, and product organization.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety standards and a clean, organized counter and warehouse environment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
