About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers by using guidance, knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also involves shifting focus throughout the day from assisting customers to performing warehouse tasks. This part-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and reports to the Branch Manager.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer experience, including selecting appropriate products, accurately entering orders, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Help with merchandising and replenish the showroom.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the branch meets Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
