About The Position

As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers using guidance, knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, create customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role combines customer assistance with a variety of warehouse tasks throughout the day. You will report to the Branch Manager. The position is based at Grainger’s branch at 6001 W. 115th St., Alsip, IL 60803-5152. It is part-time, with flexibility to work at any time within the branch’s hours of operation. The hourly anticipated base pay range is $20.34–$25.44. Requirements

Flexibility to work any time within the branch’s hours of operation.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

Manage the customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customers’ vehicles.
Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
Adapt communication style to different audiences through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
Help with merchandising and replenish the showroom.
Perform inventory counts.
Learn and navigate computer systems used for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the branch meets Grainger appearance standards.
Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
