About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers using guidance, product knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also includes shifting focus throughout the day between customer service and warehouse tasks. This position reports to the Branch Manager.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work any time within the branch's hours of operation.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Identify ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication style to different audiences in email, over the phone, and in person.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the branch meets Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
