About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers through guidance, product knowledge, and a positive attitude. You maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role also includes shifting between customer assistance and warehouse tasks throughout the day. You report to the Branch Manager. This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to work any time within branch operating hours. The position is based at 6240 B Street, Anchorage, Alaska 99518.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Identify ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication to different audiences by email, phone, and in person.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems used for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain the branch’s appearance to Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
